TRIBUTO AYRTON SENNA

THE ARTIST’S VOICE

About the artwork

After finishing the Lamborghini painting, I discovered almost by chance that I had opened a new door in my artistic journey: cars as emotional, rather than mechanical, symbols. I do not come from the motoring world, but some stories pass through you even when you do not seek them out… and Ayrton Senna’s struck me deeply. What impressed me most was not only his supernatural talent behind the wheel or the changes he brought to Formula 1. It was his ability to unite an entire country. How one person could become hope, pride and light for millions. Senna was more than a driver: he was a collective heartbeat. No number of tributes could ever repay what Ayrton Senna gave this world. So I could only honour him through what I know best: a gaze. I chose the eye of Xuxa, one of the most important women in his life. To me, that reflection mirrors an entire country. A gaze containing love, loss, gratitude and the living memory of a man the world still mourns today.

This painting is my way of saying “thank you” to someone who changed lives with the same intensity with which he raced.
