THE ARTIST’S VOICE

About the artwork

When I created this work, I wanted to tell a love story that needed no words to exist. On one side, the statue: steadfast, eternal, perfect in its silence. He represents a love born of the classical, of order, of tradition that does not seek to change because its beauty lies precisely in remaining intact. His presence is calm, structure, all those certainties we sometimes long for without saying so. Opposite him stands me, although you do not know it yet. I am that figure overflowing with colour, breathing chaos, living in a whirlwind of sensations and loving without a single straight line. I am disorder, intensity, impulse. And yet I find in him a place to rest my lips. In that kiss, joining two opposing worlds, I let my colours fall onto his rigidity, staining his perfection with my freedom. And at that exact point, right where we kiss, my art is born.

As the work reveals itself, so does its secret: this love story is not simply between two figures, but between my two halves. It is my emotional self-portrait, my endless struggle between the artist who adores extravagance and chaos and the woman who reveres the classical, the almost sacred, the realistic. I am the colour invading the stone, and also the stone trying to hold the colour.
